Cedar Creek Park has entrance to skating/cycling/running path that runs along Wantagh State Pkwy. to Jones Beach State Park. Smooth asphalt, 2 lanes, 3 bridges, scenic bay views, sometimes windy. Round trip 8.5 miles.

Directions: From New York City's Pennsylvania Station, take Babylon Line of the Long Island Railroad and ride about 45 min. to Wantagh Station. Walk or taxi about 1 mile south to Merrick Road and you're there.

Facilities: Cedar Creek Park has comfort stations, outdoor rink, fields, courts, playgrounds, parking. At Jones Beach end of path there are bicycle w. attendant during season.

Recommend: Nice scenery, fairly well trafficked but usually not crowded. Sometimes moderate to stiff breeze one or both ways. Bridges provide nice grade variation and views. Skate hard or easy as you wish. Short enough to do a few complete trips.
